The Hang Seng Index rose 0.5% to 25,668 during Friday’s trading session, rebounding after a previous 1.5% decline. Forty-four of the 93 constituent stocks posted gains, with the trade and industrial sectors serving as key market drivers.
WuXi Biologics was the top performer, surging approximately 10.8%. Despite today’s gains, the Hang Seng remains down about 0.8% for the week and is on track to record its largest weekly decline since late June.
Overall, the Hang Seng remains roughly 8.5% below its 52-week high but stands 14% above its June low. A drop in market volatility suggests that pressure is easing, though investors remain cautious ahead of US Non-Farm Payrolls (NFP) data, which could influence the dollar’s trajectory and Asian stock market sentiment.
